“If Trump and his supporters can defame others,” writes David Frum, “they can dull voters’ awareness of the astounding and horrible uniqueness of Trump’s corruption”: https://theatln.tc/8YM3Hqab

Yes but Trump's not the problem. +74M Americans chose a 6x bankrupt, 2x divorced, $¼ million per-bonk-buying, disinfectant drinking, drowning in debt, +400,000 lies in 4 years telling, 34 felony count convict “genius” over a former AG of the world's 5th largest economy who KO'd banks. THEY DID THIS!
Stupid, Dumbass American voter’s voted this INSANE, MENTALLY DISTURBED MAN to lead this great nation, knowing he doesn’t believe in Democracy, our Constitution, Rule of Law, or individual Freedoms, Rights & Liberties.
These American voter’s are so DUMB, they are clueless what this nation’s…
I’ve spent the last 10 yrs trying to, “Pretty up,” this statement, so as not to offend my fellow Americans. I will no longer candy coat what must be said!
I used to work as an appellate lawyer albeit in another country with world class QCs and stellar judges & held my own amongst them. So I know a few things. But I still can’t fathom how men like Ted Cruz & Marco Rubio exist the way they do: knowing what they know, how can they be what they are?
As a retired Federal Employee, I have often thought the same. I have resolved it’s the steady, dependable paycheck, along with all the perks & benefits members of Congress enjoy.
I’m not sure how Big Law Firms, or even Medium size Law Firms compare. Smaller law firms across the country can …
Yes. I once did a count of all the newspapers, free radio & TV stations, free schools, colleges AND free libraries, researched FAPE: FREE AND APPROPRIATE PUBLIC EDUCATION. I promptly felt like shooting myself because. I could not account for the abysmal ignorance around me.
3) I thought Americans were better educated, had a history of injustice that they legislated their way out of; who were logical, rational, fact-based—they went to the MOON!—but to my unending heartbreak: the majority of them turned out to be brutes, unilluminated by reason, sense or basic decency.
1) Madam, I can’t even begin n to describe the extent of my sadness at what I see before me. I migrated here LEGALLY because of mountain ranges of injustice in my country then headed by a murderous, murdering President egged on by voters like those who chose Trump. I thought AMERICANS were better…
1) Some voters are “dumb” no doubt; but many, FAR TOO MANY are “smart, intelligent, cream of society” stuff; e.g. Marco Rubio, Speaker Johnson & too many others to name. Hitler was a lunatic enabled by millions of sane people; as is Trump. THEY, THEY are the diseased; the impervious to decency.
In many Posts, I acknowledge the ignorance I’m referring to is of Civics, Govt, & History, as opposed to people being Ignorant about everything, which is more true. Sometimes, I get so frustrated over this issue, I don’t make this distinction, & I probably should.
When I read Neil Postman’s ‘Amusing Ourselves To Death’ in 1985 in Africa; I thought he was exaggerating. When I got here; I realized he was prophesying! And so it goes! Wish you the best of life and luck. We will need it when, IF we get through this.
This is not the best medium for discussion which is what is called for here; but tragically that’s what we’ve become: instant coffee, drive-in diners & banking; drive by shooting; 140 character tweets; reduce life to basic common denominators; no time for Advanced Math …
I'm unsure anymore that it's ignorance alone. I've spoken to people who voted for him and they still believe he's truly doing good things. Meeting expectations and succeeding.
I can only say it's baffling to hear about his achievements, when there are clearly none.
5) life comes at each of us at the same speed: 60 seconds a minute, 60 minutes an hour & NOBODY, NOBODY, NOBODY knows for sure what comes next. But whatever it is, it’s coming & we’ll find out like or not, ready or not. This life, it’s not a dress rehearsal. We’ll see how it turns out soon enough.
4) the proof of the pudding is in the eating. America’s now at the lunch counter if life, chewing down on the chef’s spread. Let’s decide how discerning a choice we made as the feast progresses. That’s the tang about water: it always finds its own level & so will we.
3) but that is the thing about democracy & the human rights; every person has the right to believe what he believe; if he thinks a itch doctor’s brew is a cure for cancer; he can take that treatment. Sooner or later he’ll find out what he was right or wrong. & we in the United States will too.
3) truth is truth, reality is reality, a thief is thief, a rapist is rapist - even if he is a “nice, charming guy” with perfect table manners. Jeff Skilling, Bernie Madoff, Elizabeth Holmes, Michael Milken were nice people; but they were crooks, Trump is the same & Robin Hood he’s not. But …
2) … accept that & change. I told many of my criminal clients that THEY needed to change. Many listened. I wasn’t the most wanted lawyer in town but the clients I had wouldn’t leave me if I paid them, because they knew with me that got 100% TRUTH, JUSTICE & FAIRNESS, even if it meant they went in
1) I used to work as Prosecutor, Defense Attorney & Public Defender. Some of my clients were nice guys but those who were guilty, guilty. Some were “nice guys” but they were guilty & though I defended them from unfairness, I ALWAYS told them to DEAL WITH REALITY; if they were wrong; they should …

Many of these Veterans were their ancestors not far removed from today’s generation…
If you voted Trump & the GOP he fully controls to govern this great nation, you are an IDIOT! …
