Spouse was driving back to work site after lunch and kid, who was Trying To Win At Traffic cut him off and smunched the front end of the vehicle at the center of the previous posts

Luckily, there was a witness who corroborated spouse’s account to the Highway Patrol officer (witness narrowly avoided becoming the other driver’s first casualty) and confirmed the Kid was at fault
