A great watch and story. I appreciate that those featured owned what they had done to land in prison and didn't try to blame someone else. Their creations were beautiful, in sight AND meaning.
I am a quilter and a donor. This was the best documentary I have ever seen. And a number of the men in that prison should have been released years ago.
I just watched this tonight and it was a wonderful film. My mother-in-law was a hand quilter, and she talked to me about getting the corners perfect, so I sure thought of her anytime there was ripping. Thanks for the update about the program.
This film, and Sing Sing most closely reflect the people I've met in prison. We train folks to he end of life, me.ory and Palliative care caregivers to their incarcerated peers...remarkable how much someone can change, and become such deeply caring person...great film!!
It is wonderful and I’ve recommended to folks. It humanizes the prisoners and as I was watching, I felt like this was the kind of humanizing we need to do to bridge our political & cultural divide. And I quilt so there is that!
