He says that and it's like the pussy grabber saying he won't tax overtime pay. He's eliminating most overtime, we won't have fair elections going forward.
Obviously this is meant to drive people insane — but i'll state the obvious: it's impossible for a billionaire tech baron to be apolitical. His wealth depends on being engaged in politics, so this headline is intentionally misleading/miseducation.
Elon Musk, being sued currently for allegedly not paying voters like he promised, is decidedly not ruling out using his vast fortune to influence another election, while also in no way locking himself in to spending "a lot less" next time, whatever that even means in relation to $290 million.
Not a single journalist threw back at him his direct involvement in AfD. What he said then was a loud dog whistle in front of the crowd who wanted to hear it.
I think the better question is whether the value in this headline for Musk today is far greater than the information will ever be to literally anyone else—even if, let's say, he doesn't follow through. If we're pretending it matters, there is nothing to hold him to here. It's not a real commitment.
Musk has done what he set out to do (run interference while Donny dismantled democracy) and now wants to fade into the background to avoid any more consequences for his actions
With the value of the information being zero for us plebes, coming as it does from a liar with his own message distribution system, it seems like a NYT, once again, comforting the super comfortable.
Every billionaire should. Period. There is an increasing probability that heads will roll if they continue to inject themselves into what they don't know or understand, yet have a devastating impact on millions.
My advice? Take your billions, hide in your yacht and stay the hell out of our way
They have the contracts, the data and the back doors into critical Gov't systems. Time now to move back into the shadows and work from there. No point in spending more money on what's already been paid for and delivered.
Nah. You just can’t trust either of them. Their checkbooks will open wide next election cycle, even if only to try and keep the left wing being in a position to properly regulate them.
They want to “get out of politics” because “they stole everything they could, and now they don’t want to be around when the public shows up with the guillotine”
Are they lies, or Ketamine-induced hallucinations? And if we can't trust that we won't be locked inside a burning Tesla, why would anyone want to get into a SpaceX vehicle?
So much BS. There are dozens of ways for them to influence elections, including the management of their garbage platforms and dark money being funneled through PACs.
‘Having fatally undermined the foundations of American democracy, I am now leaving the sordid world of politics to focus on my family, my spiritual growth, and the management of my modest mom-and-pop business. Please respect my privacy as I make this transition.”
Gotta wonder whether Musk is easing out of politics because Tesla crashed and his board of directors suggested the company might be better off without him.
The damage is already done. They got what they wanted. Big tax cuts, less regulations and investigations ended. What they have to deal with now is living the rest of their lives as pariahs.

Also, remember when Meta said they were going to downrank political content "only from people you don't follow" (bullshit)?
Mark means "done with politics" the way white dudes mean "done with race".
And that’s why you’re a shite conman, a filthy liar & a pathological megalomaniac.
