You cannot hate your own voters as much as Blue Labour and Labour Together do and hope to succeed on your own terms. You can only rely on the uselessness of your opponents. It really is no way to run a government.

The Blue Labour/Labour Together strategy seems to be based on daring the core Labour vote not to look elsewhere at the next general election because the alternative government would be worse. It's entirely dispiriting but makes sense on paper. The problem is that it probably won't work!
