I leave on a roadtrip for a few days a week from Monday & this is harrowing to look at.
I’m glad I’m going — but I’m terrified of a future where we have to travel in a 2-week window to miss blizzards & wildfires, or we can’t see central Canada.
This impacts the entire planet.
This is oil & gas.

Canada is already in it with big fires and evacs in the thousands. The country looks poised to have large fires on the landscape from now until the snows come. That means Canadian resources will be overextended and not available to help others. Also, probably leads to smoke drifting into the US.

So the first person who berates me for talking climate/oil & fires & roadtrip will get an earful. I live a walking lifestyle. I’m not the problem.
I walk and cycle and bus everywhere. If I need a car, I use a car share.
I guarantee you the world would be different if everyone lived that lifetstyle. The odd trip isn't the problem.
It's every day choices that are.
Defeatism is not welcome on my timeline.
I just refuse to believe it's a done deal.
