If they are going to be liberal - the grift - the fossil fuels, who’s going to back them? Not the miners, not fossil fuel companies, not Murdoch. Can’t get into alliance with the Nationals. Seems like a recipe to further splinter the vote.

If there ever was a time to form a new party to replace the Liberal Party, now would be the time to do it.

I would suggest a centrist or centre right party.

The only trouble is, there are no moderates in the Liberal Party.

There are 3 or 4. Used to be 10-12 more but they lost their seats to Teals the last 2 elections.

Personally my dream scenario is the two main parties in Australia be a center-left ALP and a new firm-left (but not far-left) party (social-democratic party or something along those lines)

But sadly a centrist/moderate party replacing the LNP is far more likely.
