If those 70 % would support democracy then they wouldn't have elected those idiots into the White House. Didn't they learn anything from history and his first term? Apparently, NOT.

Sorry for being sarcastic. But do you really believe that the vast majority of U.S. citizens know anything about history, especially history outside the U.S.
Good point. That's part of the problem. But, nevertheless, they should have seen this coming after his first term. And I guess they must have learned something about Germany in 1937. They sure copied banning and burning books in maga states.
But I'm sitting in a glass house throwing stones. Last week 20 % vote for a party which is in parts fascist. They rejoice about Selensky's humiliation.
That is a problem. Although the problem with ultra right political parties in the EU isn't as big as in the USA, they're there. VB in Belgium, AFD in Germany, FN in France. It's dangerous. You already see the consequences in Romania. The former FBI director under Obama wrote a book about it.
That's what I mean. I've been an exchange student in the USA a long, long time ago. The knowledge of European or world history was so low. People where simply not interested. But I am sitting in a glass house.
