Lovely write up. I thought the movie was fantastic, looks and sounds great too. Then you get grinchy reviews like this guy, probably one of the critics Tarantino writes about in Cinema Speculation
Good for him and everyone who likes him. I don't, so... I'd have preferred an actor that is unknown and not in every second movie. I am sorry, I should not have commented.
you can comment all you like, but people are going to respond to them! i don't have any feelings towards him at all - if anything I was worried about having to sit with chalamet fans who didn't GAF about Dylan. right now i am excited to think about all the new Bobcats that are busy being born
This is right on. Seeing it a second time, was Lomax (and maybe Sylvie’s sister) portrayed as antisemitic? The scene where he goes on about Bloomfield and Grossman is something.
when i tell you how quickly and eagerly i read this when it was emailed, i had been SO looking forward to your thoughts after seeing generally positive reviews. i’m so glad to hear it held those Feelings the way i hoped it would!
Terrific review! Can't wait to see this next week!! I am almost done reading the book and now I may go back and re-read A freewheelin time because I read it so long ago I do not remember much of it.
This was such a wonderful joy to read, now bookmarked as well, thank you. A huge exhale, too. Question for you: was Al Kooper's creative self-insertion into Dylan's band factored into the story? His life story alone could make a fascinating biopic imho..

Did you see the Winehouse movie? It's a rough one
