(For the record, Marshall was not the first General of the Army, but the earlier Civil War incarnation was a bit different, and still technically a 4-star rank.)

As a LDS who hasn't resigned and grew up in UT. Joseph Smith declared he was a 4 star in the Mormon Militia. And then they wonder why the federal govt wanted them out.
