PTGTs are severely slept on, imo. Even regular PTs were solid little commenter grocery getters. I think they're just a victim of their era and their faux retro looks.

The only issue with a PT Cruiser is it was so boomer-coded that if you weren't a Betty Boop or Coca-Cola memorabilia enthusiast it was basically 4-wheeled satire

The ratio of boomer modded PTs to non-boomer modded PTs I've seen IRL is basically 1:0.
I've never seen a bagged/street-rodded/lowridered PT

I tried it once and I must admit that it was a car that made you smile and it was not entirely unpractical either.
It turned out though that it was absolute crap design using Neon parts and bad solutions everywhere and I bought a 300M instead, a fantastic US car and the last real Chrysler

My bro had one as his runabout.

PTs were always weird to me. I worked at Enterprise at the time and every PT we had smelled like a barn, like the seats were stuffed with hay.

I do think they designed the body and then were like oh right we need to put people in this thing.

Far too many people had to learn what an interference engine was in response to “okay, so why can't you just replace the timing belt?”

This design would absolutely sell today with Apple CarPlay and the non-hybrid engine from the Hornet.

Especially the convertible. So few options left for those.
