Morning, folks! Question regarding de-contenting for the hive...
Hypothetically if you could live without a common feature or amenity on your next new vehicle to save a bit of cash at time of purchase, what would you be willing to give up?

Leather Seats - cloth seats mean I don’t need them heated or cooled either.
Electric seats.
* premium sound
* satellite radio
* automatic transmission
* trim-level faffing, ie uglier wheels on higher trim levels
* lane departure warning systems
* Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
- any and all clocks
- am/fm radios
- automatic transmissions or at least autos w/ more than 4 speed
The million settings and apps in the car’s touchscreen interface.
Adjustable rgb values of the internal lights.
I don’t need the voice assistant endlessly reaffirming it doesn’t understand. We established that on day 1.
Power outlets that don’t provide clean power.
-wheels
-expensive interior coverings
-expanded seating options
Things I won’t give up:
-adaptive cruise
-good sound
-safety tech
-a sun or glass roof
Clearly you do not use heavily traveled roads frequently.
I don’t need:
Automatic windshield wipers
Dual-zone/multi-zone hvac
Wireless charging
amenity, so it wouldn’t count for me.
Won’t give up htd steering wheel/ seats; auto HVAC (with hard keys); power everything (incl. both front seats with memory); sunroof; adaptive cruise; auto lights; interval wipers; dual exterior mirrors; rear head restraints.
Don’t really miss power seats or sunroof.
My auto wipers suck, so I’d give them up. Good ones are gold though.
They can have my key, just give me hands free fob (not sure which is cheaper?).
If we're talking about options, though, I hate heads-up displays, too. I can also live without a wireless charger that bakes my phone.
Nevertheless it’s pretty dumb on a track car like the Charger Daytona
Totally agree with this one.
Seriously though, screens. Can easily do without them.
Makes for easy shopping as most new cars have this.
Happy to pass on panoramic roof, LKAS, ISA, heated seats, power seats and trunk, leather, in car nav, wireless charging, wireless carplay/AA...
Electric windows
Electrically opening tailgate
the whole damn screen
take it
throw it in the ocean
do not ever talk to me about screen again
Bring back cloth & keep the heat option
The auto industry is force feeding us like the French stuff birds for pate.
I need regular cruise control power windows, doors and mirrors and a Bluetooth connection (FM transmitter is fine).
Basically a fancy 80s car plus Bluetooth.
