I’ve driven very basic cars (my first car was a FIAT 127) and some with many gadgets. The only feature I really like is electric windows. Everything else is just extra parts that can break.

The million settings and apps in the car’s touchscreen interface.

Adjustable rgb values of the internal lights.

I don’t need the voice assistant endlessly reaffirming it doesn’t understand. We established that on day 1.

Automatic wipers. I usually end up disabling them anyway. Nobody appreciates a single drop of rain landing at the correct spot at the right sun angle that causes a total wiper conniption, or conversely, wipers that refuse to go during a cloudburst.

Both of these are good examples, though adaptive cruise control is really nice (to be fair, I’ve driven nearly 200k miles in the last 8 years, so it’s one of those features that has value to me).

I prefer cloth upholstery! It's so, so, SO much better in the heat and doesn't need a extra maintenance to avoid getting gross, brittle and cracked over time. Give me cloth.

Don’t really miss power seats or sunroof.
My auto wipers suck, so I’d give them up. Good ones are gold though.
They can have my key, just give me hands free fob (not sure which is cheaper?).

Cruise control. I get drowsy if I use it for too long, so I almost never use it. I'll engage it to test a vehicle and see how it works, but in my personal cars? No.

If we're talking about options, though, I hate heads-up displays, too. I can also live without a wireless charger that bakes my phone.

Ironically in the supplier world glass roofs are being sold as cheaper than good ol'steel stamping because it doesn't require a headliner, and other trim pieces, labor etc, and is supposed to be a weight savings. While offering luxury upsided margins.

Makes for easy shopping as most new cars have this.

Happy to pass on panoramic roof, LKAS, ISA, heated seats, power seats and trunk, leather, in car nav, wireless charging, wireless carplay/AA...

I need regular cruise control power windows, doors and mirrors and a Bluetooth connection (FM transmitter is fine).

Basically a fancy 80s car plus Bluetooth.
