I think one reason for chatgpt's appeal is its relatively stripped down plain text interface. If I want to go to a different website to understand what a Roth IRA does I probably have to deal with a bunch of goofy ads and promotions. The people long for simple plain text websites

But if that really is what people want, why are almost all tutorials these days in video format? I love when I can see steps written out, or with static graphics, instead of having to jump around a video to find what I'm looking for
