Every time I see a genuinely funny shitpost, the fact checking/serious replies give me despair. Teachers: I think we need to start teaching children how to post, so they don't shame themselves as adults.

I dunno. I think there’s something charming about ernest people who take what others say at face value. You could argue that the 4chan-ification of the web (where everybody is shit posting just to get a reaction) is one of the reasons why we’re in the mess we currently are.
There's an episode of Newscast out there where Kuenssberg discusses shitposting for ten minutes without having a clue what shitposting is. It was almost Dadaist.
I once made a self-deprecating post about getting the timing wrong for descaling my kettle.
You'd *think* there'd be no way to respond like a joyless scold to that. You'd be wrong.
It wasn't a shitpost, but I made a gentle post about how my 3yo complained he had 'not never been on a cruise' as if this was a major hardship and someone said I should have corrected him for using a double negative 🙄
this is the first post i have that has broken the containment of the few queer & irish bloomfies i have on this site & i am genuinely shocked at the number of people taking it at face value.
