The dog was diagnosed with spondylitis? I’m aware that many animals have spondylitis, just wasn’t aware that they are diagnosed by vets.

Yes Heidi has spondylitis. She was diagnosed after becoming suddenly paralysed in her hind legs. An MRI & CT scan at the vet referral centre showed bony spurs growing on her neck & spine and pressing on nerves when she twisted while running. It means no more off lead time & careful pain managenent

Its been a rough 3 years since diagnosis but each time a spur causes issues we revert to bed rest, then 5 minute lead walks, building up slowly to a max of 25 mins. But the dog trolley has been a godsend. She can only tolerate liquid gabapentin & liquid paracetamol for pain. No opiates or nsaids
