Meet Dr. Haja Jalloh, the country’s first locally trained and accredited psychiatrist. She’s now one of just three Sierra Leonean psychiatrists nationwide.

That means she’s made history as the first psychiatrist ever trained and certified entirely within Sierra Leone.

After graduating in 2018, Dr. Haja joined the Sierra Leone Psychiatric Teaching Hospital in 2020 and started her residency the following year. She’s been showing up for patients with skill, heart, and deep commitment.
