In 2021, McConnell successfully filibustered a Democratic CR ahead of a government shutdown and forced them to accept a clean one instead. What happened this week - a total cave on a totally partisan long-term funding bill - hasn’t happened in the 20 years I’ve covered Congress.

And they can't figure out why we're so damn mad at their fecklessness.
In 2021, Dems were trying to avoid a shutdown. That gave McConnell “cards” thst Schuner doesn’t hold because now the GOP would be fine with a shutdown. A shutdown would simply accelerate their agenda of dismantling the government.
There was no win here. Either way Dems would get blamed for the outcome.
I don't agree with the decision & I think the smartest move Dems can make in the next 48 hours would be to oust Schumer but that doesn't change the fact that there was no solution that didn't come with drawbacks.

Many of the 48.3% of us who voted BLUE will do everything to vote U GUTLESS COWARDS OUT!
A point I tend to make is we feel more comfortable ganging up on Dems, then republicans, I don't know why, but we do, in the media.
Disgusting. Burn leadership to the ground.

Mitch didn’t have many admirable qualities, but he knew how to be stubborn.
Schumer could’ve acted accordingly instead of rolling over like a scolded dog.
Needs replacement and if they can't they should just go around him from now on. Consider him a republican and as much as possible cut him out and off.
