monday this week was the 2 year anniversary of what is probably my favorite start of a game review ever. genuinely such effective unbridled agenda-pushing i sat down and listened and now atelier is like one of my fave franchises

This has the same wonderful energy as that review of a Sims 2 DLC by Steve Hogarty that got fired from PCZone, which starts off with the sub-header "Oh honestly, this can fuck right off"
play atelier tho genuinely. these are fairly short largely plotless RPGs with a focus on fun characters and vibes. at their best they also have crafting systems that you'll likely spend at least 1/3rd of your playtime learning and using. its a specific kind of joy for those who latch. go go go
Yeah when I played the game I used this cheat engine code I got from a reddit comment buried in the atelier subreddit because the game was legitimately running at seconds per frame on my laptop and I had bought it too long ago before trying it out to refund it
It ran incredibly but also i had to put my laptop on a fan because it was so hot it was probably an actual hazard and it was the middle of august. The game was okay I guess I never really fully understood what all the numbers on the crafting UI meant
my biases are with the Dusk Trilogy but the first game has things that may scare you (time limit system, somewhat complicated alchemy); Ayesha is my easy rec if you don't mind flailing around a bit
otherwise Ryza is more recent and generally agreed to be a great starting point for newcomers :0
Dont laser me for this but do we know each other im starting to lose track of all my oomfs like my memory is legit getting worse like are you a discord friend or
