I feel like we all went into the far worse of two timelines when we hoed Bernie in 2016. Thinking of how different the 2016 election would’ve went and everything after that had he won makes me sad to this day.

I would have voted for Bernie, The Berniots who sat it out or voted for The Orange Slug are as responsible for the SCOTUS super majority as anyone/thing. I was not a Hilarity fan but I understood the stakes; my kids’ & grandkids’ futures.
Stabbing oneself in the face with an ice pick syndrome.
I think you’ve made a strawman out of nothing. One if your talking about me I voted for Kamalla in this election. And two even if Leftists did decide to sit it out guess what? You have to earn peoples vote and the majority of Americans realize their vote doesn’t mean shit.
Dems have to offer their base a reason to vote and they simply don’t. Wealth income inequality continues to get worse and my gen. is worse off than my grandparents. Late stage capitalism and oligarchs are destroying our country and only one politician has been speaking out against it for decades.
My post was not aimed at you directly. I felt at the time that Hilarity was the ONLY candidate that The Orange Slug could defeat. She had way too much baggage.
But, to claim that sitting out because the Dems did not earn their vote is an inadequate excuse given the stakes involved.
I mean is it though? I agree Trump is a POS and a literal facist it’s terrible he won. But Americans have been disaffected for much longer than the last decade of hyper partisanship. If you look back at voter turn out over the last couple decades almost half of Americans don’t vote.
I do not think that apathetic people are the enemy, but they are part of the problem.
2016 was the most important election of my kids’ and grandkids’ lives. It set in stone the super majority hyper conservative SCOTUS for decades to come.
That SCOTUS not only reversed Roe v Wade, it supplanted…
We can’t keep having these “most important election of our time” and just expect people to show up. Most average Americans know w/o even looking at the studies that their vote is not represented. We haven’t had a reason to vote since the Reagan era. It’s very clear especially with the united health
