While I oppose just about everything else Trump supports or is doing, the Department of Education, and the Federal Government in general takes tax revenues from blue states and send it to poor southern red states that have low property taxes because they don't fully fund their education.

The poorer red states have less income with which to fund education. Property tax revenue is much less because property values are much lower. The federal subsidies for education in poorer communities help create a more level playing field for all students.

Billions of dollars allocated to the department of education would be redirected to state education budgets for special ed,etc. Programs are not being canceled. Some will be housed within different parts of the government. Your article is totally political .You should be fired
