People criticize the Times, but honestly, props for constantly pushing the already capacious boundaries of English grammar, syntax, and vocabulary beyond what weaker, lesser minds would consider a breaking point.

original appearance of article contained "audacious" as an adjective, then shortly thereafter was revised to "brazen." Now "improbable" in headline. Interesting progression...
