As a former captain who commanded infantry at Twentynine Palms, I know these Marines deserve better than Trump's corruption and Hegseth's incompetence.

That's not necessarily true. Walking away from-

When I was still in the military, and the government shut down, it was a case where we were technically not being paid yet. Although we got paid back, and we technically didn't have orders. However, it was business as usual.

. They were hand-picked, they're going to be ones that support him, but even if it was a group of people who are completely unwilling, they may still be legally mandated to be there. Until something happens that is actively against the ucmj, are kind of locked into a holding pattern.

I have to disagree with you there. If you’ve been in the military, you know that you can’t refuse orders that aren’t unquestionably illegal. You can’t not do something because later they might order you to do something illegal.

It’s when the orders actually clearly cross the line that you have standing to not follow orders, but not before that. “Go to SoCal.” Legal. “Shoot at civilians there.” Nope.
