I don't know what our generation (Millennials, just based on us being the same age as the Mad Men cast in universe) has going for it in the awe department because technology for us is mundane. It evolves constantly but not *spectacularly* & mostly in ways that replace us with machines & AIs.

experience. It's good for our souls. We need it to feel hopeful. On the religious front I think they are great moments to draw closer to God. I remember being at an aquarium looking at all the fish in a huge tank & feeling small & fragile & yet loved by God at the same time. Go try to feel that.

I tend to take something away from every great show I finish, & it's fitting from "Mad Men" that my takeaway is: make meaning. We need meaning. We need hope right now. No in products, but in ourselves & eachother. Write & tell that story. It's how we defeat fear & hatred. With awe.

Ive never watched Mad Men but I often think about how much I am pissed at the politicization of the covid response and vaccine because the way humanity banded together and funded research and rolled out vaccines within a year is truly awesome.

Like I was vaccinated in January 2021! Less than a yr from when I first even heard of covid! (At the time I was a pharmacy technician and we had extra doses from a longterm care facility that would go to waste otherwise so we techs outside of the facility and in a typical retail pharmacy got them.)

the ND department of public health and I had to process thousands of insurance claims and claims to the state for the uninsured each week ON TOP OF my usual busy day as a pharmacy tech. But I can say to my niece and nephews that I played a part in a world changing and awesome moment in history!

That's amazing! I hope the MNRA technology survives this time in America. They also used it recently to cure pancreatic cancer, which killed one of my uncles. Apparently we have never been closer to making deaths to cancer rare for our generation & that's amazing because I lost my grandma to it too.
