The reason the coup attempt in South Korea failed as quickly as it did is because South Koreans immediately rushed to the streets to say “we won’t let you do that” and force the military to decide whether they’d shoot their fellow citizens or not.

Important for us remember over the next 4 years.

Trumps attempt at a coup in the US gave him ultimate power. He made a mockery of our judicial system by showing he is "above the law". This created the intimidation of fear to both Dems and Reps.

I don't think we Americans have the will. As long as we can post and shop, I think we're pacified into autocracy. Desperately hope I'm wrong, and I am up for protests and general strikes, but I don't even see glimmers of mass action.

Protests don't really make real change. Action does.
Protests give us something to do to feel like we're doing something but, we're not.
Money creates change and we control our own money but most refuse to make an impact with how they spend it. Protest with your $$$!!!!!

It seems like why it failed is that there's a lot of internal strife in the party, the president called for martial law. His own party challenged it and he lost the challenge so repealed. I honestly don't think politicians bow to protests, this has been proven time and again
