Anyway, I don't think most Americans will want to work through the night in the $3.15/hr tiny screw factory, and it seems weird to damage the $75+/hr jobs Apple already has in the US in order to not even create those jobs
This drives me nuts. Because we have these jobs now. They’re at Amazon fulfillment centers and they blow because you get carpal tunnel and you gotta fill a billion boxes an hour or your fat boss drives by in a cart and replaces you with a robot.
Like if we eak out some possibility of bringing those jobs back—and it’s gonna take an eleventy billion percent tariff to do so—they would suck and people would hate them.
Sort of very telling that when admin officials go on TV to talk about these jobs they are very conspicuously not hoping they or their own kids will get to be employed there. It's always someone else's kids working the tiny screw factory in their fantasy future vision of it
Yeah they want their kid to go to Harvard and do private equity which will be easier since they’re clearing out the international students who would grind their kid into math dust.
Reminds me of an interview I saw with one of those quiverful families, and the dad was going on about how we wouldn’t have enough people for elder care, and everyone should be having 10 babies, and it was clear he expected all of his kids to become doctors, lawyers, etc.
Perhaps the administration is completely untethered from reality because don and the lot of them haven't done real work, are making bank regardless, and don't care about you, me or apple.
