My grandfather (born in the late 19th century, I think) was a John Bircher. My father was a Democrat, possibly progressive. My gf used to tout “when a dollar was worth a dollar,” and my father would respond “and no one had a dollar!” I think little has changed.

Yes and good trouble has always been about actions taken against systems of power and not individuals. John Lewis’s life is an inspiration for me. He embodied his phrase of “good trouble” but also grace and love.
