Lots of suburban residents also have HOAs and, more to the point, topsoil that at MINIMUM needs extensive (and expensive) testing for heavy metals and other contaminants, and in many cases even more expensive mitigation or replacement

Let alone those of us who know quite well we were downwind from a major copper smelter for decades and that we and every other person within 10 miles would need a couple feet of new topsoil first
Any country that used leaded gasoline, or that shares airspace or water sources with a country that used leaded gasoline, needs AT MINIMUM lead testing of any topsoil that you’re planning to extract edible food from
