Works in theory. Never happens in practice unless you're an "I'm Alright Jack" with their healthcare in the bag and passing privilege etc. Believe me I... have... tried... Driven by politics by those at the top of the activist pile and influencers the "community" as a whole simply isn't interested.

That said I'm sorry to say the worst abuse I've seen offline in an NHS support group and online has been from other trans, and I include being bullying and bitchy and vindictive and weaponising virtue signalling and I'm Alright Jack rugpulling in that behaviour.
Until recently we avoided most other trans people IRL because it had happened so often we just didn't want the risk.
Main issue we've had in last couple of years has been trans people siding with police against their own community.
Just stick with people who are no bother you are compatible with. Some can be trans but cis too.
I would have to scrutinise what someone's position is before letting people have the impression they're speaking on my behalf whether they're trans or not.
