Syd and I read the whole ACOTAR series since last we spoke. They’re books about horny fairies that I found invigoratingly inventive in a structural sense and terribly romantic. Maybe I’m just going soft in my old age, I dunno

Her other long series Throne of Glass is a full on fantasy epic with some of the craziest twists I've read! Big, BIG recommend. Somewhat less spicy, and it takes a little bit for the teenage (at first) main to mature and stop being whiny, but that makes her growth that much better.
Exactly my experience! I bounced off of ACOTAR and ALMOST did not finish book 2 of Throne of Glass. But with the ending that book landed and the way it expanded the scope, I devoured the next two.
I wasn’t sold on the first book but started the second book after hearing Sydnee talk about the series on Still Buffering and I’m definitely starting to buy in

Not horny, not fairies, so romantic and I can’t stop thinking about the monster.
