Also, is it actually back? It seems they just changed some sequences of wolf DNA, and haven't yet shared the direwolf DNA they sequenced.

And most of them got it wrong. Grey wolf dna was altered to resemble dire wolf dna in some ways. Like when they used to have Rolls Royce grills you could put on your Volkswagen.

They all got used for a PR stunt by a billionaire who wanted a pet that looked like to CG wolves in Game of Thrones. These bear as much resemblance to a real dire wolf as a cyber truck does to a real utility vehicle. Billionaire vanity.
