Labour have just not thought this through. There really is no cavalry coming over the hill for Social Care, Hospitality, Agriculture or the NHS all of which need committed and skilled people.

A herded coalition of the unwilling is not the answer and won't cover the bases anyway. #immigration

Theres a culture in the UK of expecting hospital/social care & yet; we're not prepared to do it. Granted wages, conditions & status need radical overhaul. We can't just siphon carers from elsewhere as we deplete their systems. We need to give our care as we expect to receive care. I work in NHS care

As a constructive comment: we do we down play care? Why isn't it a social value throughout education that caring is a core value of society? Decades of individual me-ism has led here. Let's train the next gen, get them to value caring and make it a well paid vocation. Because we are opposite now

We shouldn't rely on people coming to care for us. We have to care for ourselves, & our loved ones & it's an honour to do it. Occasionally we will need extra work force which is where an imported work force is required. What is telling is: why do we not have a society prepared to care for itself

So long as the vacancies in care services, hospitality, NHS, dental, etc that could be filled by immigration are concentrated in Reform voting areas it will be a great result.

It will provide lots of high quality / low paid job opportunities for those key board warriors.

I work in the care sector. Have done for 24 years. We are reliant on migrant workers, British people don't want to work in care for rubbish pay, it's already at breaking point. This new policy will decimate it.

I don't know, that's for our representatives to fix! Probably a taping of the visas, equalising pay between immigrants and natives, a pay rise, improvement of conditions?

They need to figure out what will motivate companies to hire brits/brits to do the job, then do that.
