hwell actually that is not in the shape of the aedificium but of the reims cathedral labyrinth which was destroyed and all that remains of it are the drawings of what it was intended to be
when i finished the book i was listening to it on audio book (+ physical) and my phone died. while trying to restart it i spammed buttons on a black screen. apparently my phone did the automated emergency contact thing because it summoned the fire department irl just as the fire burned in the story.
like 5 firemen showed up to my apartment in real life as the audiobook was describing the fire. still not quite sure how that happened but it made for an immersive experience.
I actually hadn't heard of this book before your GDC talk (thanks for the pin by the way). But now I feel like I have to go read it. Will try to find the sickest cover I can.
Tagged you in this on twitter, didn't realize you weren't active on there anymore (but thank you for checking anyway, means a lot to me!)
I just snagged this cover today :)
