Not all, but apparently some. That French academic was denied entry (fortunately not shipped off to Louisiana) and had his laptop confiscated because they scanned it and found comments critical of the regime.

I'm seeing a lot of advice to bring a prepaid phone instead of your regular one. If that's not possible, at least make sure your phone's not signed in to your email or social media accounts, delete chat history, etc. That should help.

I second this opinion. If you MUST travel to or from the US, leave your devices at home and bring a burner phone. Treat it like going to a protest, don't bring your personal data with you

Even if you're a natural citizen, they're still looking at phones/laptops for some people. They can't stop us from re-entering, but they *can* seize the device to "investigate" and send you on your way if you don't cooperate.
