Thank you for this. I've been struggling with it. To me it's a flood gates thing, it's the same with the homeless in the city - they *all* deserve help, but I rarely have cash to give and I can't give to everyone what they deserve.

I tried to send some money to a Gaza contact but we messed it up.

It's really complex trying to get money directly to people there, I think? It's not like we can just Venmo or bank transfer it over. Our attempt was via PayPal.

People on Bluesky seem to have figured out a way, but I haven't understood what that is - or if it's something I can set up alone.

At this point, if you're holding back simply for lack of trust, you're being obtuse. I know it's hard to believe anything on the internet these days, but you don't have to be a sleuth yourself! Trust people already in community with Gazans, and stop living on a little island of self-righteousness.

Thanks for making this case. I've been giving through aid organizations for the conventional wisdom that they "make each dollar go further" than an individual could, but if they're not even allowed access to those in need that changes things
