Gamers and game devs I'd like to kindly request that you stop expecting/making your RPGs bigger and bigger there's nothing wrong with a 30-40 hour long RPG. 30 hours is already an absurd length for ANY piece of media. Have you ever taken 30 hours to read a book? Have you even ever read a book?

I love Helldivers because it is a fun 3rd person shooter that allows me to play with my pals.
I also don't think a game should be less than 12 hours unless it's replayable in some form.
You literally can put in as much or as little time as you want.
One of the beauties of big, open world RPGs imo.
Yes. :|
I still think 30hrs is absurd, but like no shame if you WANT to do it vs it being base experience; I have like 400 hours on Hades I don't have a leg to stand on.
Show me any other media that delivers that before you include replayability to get different outcomes.
Please don't look at my Fallout franchise playtime.
Also, yes, A Dance with Dragons took me at least 30 hours.
Something something penis joke.
I’ve long since got tired of open-world RPGs that have content that is grossly repetitive, or threadbare. I will always prefer a smaller, well-furnished, bespoke world to a larger copy-and-pasted world. I really do not need a hundred hours of largely identical gameplay.
N👀bs need to stick to Baby games we on the other hand will take all the hours you can throw at us Bayyyybeeeee !!!!
"Give me so much side content that I couldn't possibly feel bad for missing half of it" is honestly a valid tactic though, although that seems rough on the developers so idk how viable that is for everyone.
I love long form fantasy/sci-fi — some of those individual books are over 30 hours but more relevant the whole series is definitely.
But agree with your point. For an RPG 30 hours is pretty good.
