Everyone with a middle school level of intelligence should have been able to see how dangerous trump is. Voting for anyone other than Kamala was a mathematical guarantee of a wasted vote. You might as well spoil the ballot. Which means one less vote against trump

It's mainly a reference to how elections are set up in this country. We have the outdated & horrible Electoral College coupled with Winner Take All allocation of electors guaranteeing that third parties will never serve as anything but spoilers. If we had Ranked Choice voting, it would be different.

That is indeed THE serious defect of our current system, but as long as we're stuck with the Electoral College & Winner Take All, the only viable alternative remains to vote for the most Progressive candidate in the primaries but then voting for the Democrat in the general - even holding your nose.

To amplify my point about the primary elections, the best time to put leftward pressure on the Democratic Party is in the primaries. Having a bunch of AOC style Progressives unseat or strongly challenge centrist & center-right incumbents would go a long way toward giving us a good Democratic Party.

It's our best option until we can get enough Progressives in Congress & the White House to change the system to Ranked Choice voting & (hopefully) amend the Constitution to scrap the Electoral College.
