You are allowed to grieve for more than one day. We know the work you do & are grateful. But please take time for yourself. This is a big loss. I empathize with you & pray that Bode's memories bring joy to you after the grieving passes.
Dogs love unconditionally. They donβt judge us and are so forgiving. Having rescued and fought for dogs for years, Iβve witnessed the miraculous health benefits of dogs in our lives.
Oh no!! We LOVE your Bodie, and anyone who loves dogs like we do completely understands the heartbreak. It does't really ever got better, but you get used to it. β€οΈ
We must establish a Nuremberg type court now. It would have to be extra-judicial and outside the bureaucracy for now....an Opposition STAR Chamber. Even the pro-forma processes will get the energy flowing and make all sides aware and wake up to what's coming. There will be accountability.
We are always here. Take what time you need. And know, Bode will always be with you. His sweet spirit shines through in all the photos you have shared. πππ»
I always thought people overreacted to the loss of a pet. Then, at age 37, a dog invited me to become part of his pack. Take more than one day if you need it.
Losing a dog is one of life status experiences. But it's worth all the joy they bring us and we only hope we can bring them an equal amount of Joy. After going through this several times, my advice is get up puppy. That's what Bodie would want for you, IMO.
I'm a huge dog person. Nothing is harder than losing a best friend. Letting them go is the most painful and yet most loving thing we can do for them. Hang in there and try and remember the awesome life you and Bode had together.
Itβs like we know you. And we absolutely need you. Having been there several times, I honor & respect your grief for your closest companion. Wishing you strength
Oh ππ’! I am so sorry for your loss, particularly during these harrowing times when Bodeβs companionship helped calm and comfort your soul.πΎπ
I never want anyone to dismiss their grief by saying itβs not a human, or I only need a day. You both deserve all of the love to support your tears and smiling memories for however long it takes. Looks like your community gets thatπ
1 / 2 We become religious,
then we turn from it,
then we are in need and maybe we turn back.
We turn to making money,
then we turn to the moral life,
then we think about money again.
We meet wonderful people, but lose them
in our busyness.
Weβre, as the saying goes, all over the place
I'm so sorry for your loss. I know how much it hurts. It's the worst kind of pain. I like to believe that I will see my furbabies again someday. It helps me get through it. β€οΈ
Fwiw, vet here. Iβm so sorry for your loss. He was obviously deeply loved and had a wonderful life with you. Wishing you peace and in time, the comfort that comes from years of happy memories.
I am so sorry for your loss of Bode. You really did all you could to keep him with you and I am sure he felt all your love. I am struggling with the "decision" for my 15 1/2 year old dog, the best dog ever, as I am sure Bode was. Your post has helped me. Thank you for all you do.
I'll be checking on you everyday. The daily routines will hit you.

Take your time to grieve. Bode was a great family member.
Thank you for sharing him with us.
I hope each notification brings the consolation of your loving community supporting you in this grief. Thank you for supporting us all daily, love and respect from Australia π»
Hard to lose that complete and utter loyalty and love. Thank you for all you do for all of us. Take a breath, pause a beat, this work isnβt going anywhere anytime soon
The death of a pet is like losing a best friend ...the greatest unconditional love we experience ..unless, of course we welcome a new pet to fall in love with when we are ready to do so again.
I know how hard this is. Even though we sign up for it, itβs still awful. We try to focus on how happy a life we gave them. I hope you can do that soon. π
I know what you're going through because I've been going through the same emotional pain of loss and grief when my little Eddie passed away more than a month ago. Take as much time to grieve as needed. My grief has not fully gone away. #Petgrief #Doggrief #PetGriefIsReal
Yes, Bode will remain a hero in our hearts. Thank you for sharing him with us through pictures and posts, Marc. You are an excellent dog dad. Bless you both.

Dogs are heartbreakers. But they are so worth it.
Iβm certain that he had just the best life.

I am so, so sorry and I hope you were able to be with him and hold him. Bode is an excellent dog and we will never forget him.
The worst.
May the joy he brought daily eventually temper your sorrow. π’
Steadfastness, it seems,
is more about dogs than about us.
One of the reasons we love them so much.
