I played my sona Jason because I love inserting him into everything I can. Something notable about Jason is that his morals are incredibly malleable by circumstance, so every version of him is different.

What struck me about this version was how power-hungry and viciously cutthroat he got.

Jason is someone I typically think of as being Chaotic Good by nature, with environmental factors nudging him as far down as Chaotic Neutral. My man went full Chaotic Evil in this run.

I need to stress that while I like darker characters like this, this run was me making choices as Jason, not me.

Flippantly cycling through opposing alliances, playing both sides, constantly making and breaking deals, just pursuing whatever the hell serves him best in that moment. He's self-serving and cruel, but it's not for the sake of evil, it's just because that's what happens to get him what he wants.

But something that remains a constant in Jason's character is just how loyal he is. My last post might seem to contradict that, but it's important to note that he's loyal to people, not causes and ideas.

He willingly helped Astarion ascend, he stuck by the Emperor, he even sided with Gortash.

What I'm getting at is that this is the essence of a game that puts choice in the player's hands as much as D&D (or any good RP) does, and it's impressive that Larian was able to make BG3 as open-ended as it is.

I do wish a few other scenarios were accounted for, but game dev is hard.

The run started vanilla in my first session so I could get a feel for the game. By my second session I was already lightly modding for aesthetics and QoL, adding bite scars to go with Astarion's feedings.

Excited to do another run with more substantial mods.
