NJ and LI drivers are being completely irrational, acting like they’re gonna be nuked if they enter Manhattan. GWB and FDR traffic well north of the pricing zone are way down also. im convinced this drop in traffic will return to the norm (or at least close to it) pretty soon

I wonder if this is because, within the zone, you're still largely dealing with lights specifically timed for the 25mph speed limit.

Maybe Queens has less-good transit options? Needs a bigger fee to prod behavior changes? We shall see!

We will need to see MTA bus average speed data. For me, that's the key point.

I always want to see impact on Jersey City, with less congestion making rat-runs not worthwhile.

Multiple other factors - weekend vs weekday, many people still on holiday through next week, it's snowing in central to northern NJ today (more people staying home or taking the train), etc, etc.

We do need to track data though otherwise the discussion gets overrun by anecdotes.

Inside Manhattan will have some different dynamics over time than expected.

-Major headwind- many speed limits going down to 20 from 25- with cameras,
-Looking for street parking north of 60 now at a premium.
-Security around Trump Tower
-Tailwind- Rock Center still closed off for tree,

Today’s weather probably also warned off a lot of drivers- this is the top of Port Authority which is a major parking spot for NJ commuter.
