Okay, let’s start off simple: I am from Canada, and I went to high school with former ARCA Menards Series driver Grant Quinlan (he’s two years older than me but still).

2. There was one time in high school that I snuck out of the house to go to a party, only to get hit by a car. I was mostly fine, and I’m 90% sure my parents never found out.

3. Despite my profession, I have been to one NASCAR National Series event EVER, and it was more than a decade ago at MIS. (I got it as a present for my elementary school graduation.)

4. In high school, I participated in and won one of those mathematics contests (at least in my school), but also ended up being among the top 10% in Canada. (I'm a nerd, I guess, is the takeaway.)

5. At the age of 18, I secured employment by sending @tobychristie.bsky.social five consecutive Twitter DMs with a cringy amount of exclamation points about how I could help out with spreadsheets and stuff.

The kicker? I don't think I ever put a spreadsheet on his website.

6. If I had a nickel for every time a really, really good friend of mine dropped me because I wouldn't (or couldn't) go to a high school birthday party at a water park, I'd have two nickels... which isn't a lot, but it's odd that it happened twice.
