100%. I've replayed the Mass Effect trilogy so many times (making the same choices every time, I've tried being evil but I just can't.) What did you think of Andromeda?

I loved Andromeda! Of course it’s not going to hit the same as the original trilogy but when the Archon confront you and you meet the Angarans, the game really took off for me. It’s sad a lot of people didn’t even try to get that far. I think it’s great!

Agreed. Once you accept that it's not Shep and Garrus and Liara, it's fun. There's a LOT of sameyness - it's basically a single player MMORPG - but I really loved the characters by the end (except Liam, the most boring man in the world)

Also, the first time I played it I clearly discovered something a bit too early, so all the characters were talking about "The Remnant" way before any of them had actually heard of the remnant, so I got really confused

Depends on how strict "sci-fi" & "franchise" are defined, but Firefly is a good start for mainstreamish TV or movies. But there are bajillions of speculative fiction stories, many in space or with tech. Do alternate history or ISOT works count? Or fantasy in space (which Star Wars kinda is)?
