I am so angry that that petty vindictive man (who probably has never been in a library in his life) fired Carla Hayden. For her whole career she’s been a shining light—the North Star—of the library community, making the world better for everybody.

LoC is independent, he doesn't have authority to fire her, and the courts have told him he doesn't have authority outside the executive branch.
She could fight it, I hope she does.
I completely agree. After almost 20 yrs in the field. I walked away about a month ago. I decided to go to a higher echelon so my fight is more substantive. Keep using your skills and voice as a beacon of hope and change. I have a feeling this isn’t the last we’ve heard from Dr. Hayden.
