Pat McFadden increasingly reminds me of Eric Pickles, another minister who embraced cuts without understanding the implications.
One of the key reasons the civil service has grown is Brexit. Addressing (undoing) that should be Labour's priority, especially with Trump in the White House.

"Leading by example"? What example? McFadden seems to suggest that playing with people's livelihood sets a good example...
This is a govt that cuts benefits and jobs and continues with this run-away privatisation/ liberalisation that results in increase costs of living and erode family's income
