Since switching from transitioning lens to a separate pair of prescription sunnies I've had to develop the habit of keeping the case on me. Just adds one more to the Phone, Wallet, Keys checklist. It's a good thing crossbody bags are in style right now!

No idea if they're available in Canada admittedly, but you can see if your glasses vendor of choice can do chemistrie clips. They basically make a little sunglasses clip that attaches to your glasses via an inlaid magnet in the lense. Comes with a nice small carry case too.

You could channel your inner 2000s goth and next prescription change, get reactive-lenses which adapt to the lighting conditions. Does mean when you enter indoors from outside, you look rad AF as the tint lingers.

I eventually gave up and started keeping my sunnies in the car all the time. If I’m home, I can get to my car. At work? Car. Out and about? Probably car? I still sometimes forget them while traveling, though.

as a long-time glasses wearer this is why i have a cheap pair i picked up from zenni optical that just lives in my bag (or at work) for emergencies

(other cheap web glasses providers are available ofc, that's just the one i use)

The trick I have is limited to those who drive, because I keep my prescription sunglasses in my car. There's a reason why transitions were a *big deal* when they first started existing.

As an optician I might be biased but I love that I now have transitions glasses. Never that problem. Before this I never had sunglasses at all. And happy getting glasses from work is one of the perks. So I now have 4 pairs of glasses in 2 years that I do this job. First dedicated sunglasses coming..

Even ignoring the social factor, sunglasses inside all day can also make it hard to see, tho it does depend on light levels. Plus when you get home and switch back, you'll feel like you're staring at the sun. Source: Me, who sometimes wears sunglasses indoors like a weirdo due to sensory issues :P

Like 5 years ago or so, I got glasses with lenses that tint when in sunlight, and I've never looked back, big recommend.
