The MLK civil rights movement was non-violent. When Bull Conner responded to peaceful protestors by turning fire hoses on them, it helped create nationwide sympathy for the protestors. Same when cops beat ppl on the Edmund Pettus Bridge.

This is lovely reasoning. Someone will always be violent, so just except that there will be violence in every protest.
