Gimp for my professional graphics work, Libre Office for my books etc. I actually enjoy using my PC again. Bonkers that it is also completely free, no £100 tax on new PCs! If you try it and need help, I'm happy to answer if I can.

Thank you! I don't have any questions right now, but I've had my eye on Linux Mint. For gaming, the goal is to run Cyberpunk 2077 on 1440p on a high at a steady 60 fps. I will also want to use certain apps for work. It'll be a transition period for sure, but it is what it is. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Also note: you can stick any Linux distro on a USB stick, boot your PC from the stick, and see how the OS runs! Obviously performance will be much faster when properly installed on a HD/SSD. But it is an easy way to get a feel for different distros.
If your bought Cyberpunk on Steam it should be automatic, as long as your hardware is up to it. If via GOG, it may well also be perfect via Wine. Many apps either work, have a native version, work through Wine, or have an alternative. I run Windows software seamlessly every day.
