My dad was in the navy in the 50s. In the 60s, he worked up to a high clearance as a scientist working on digital IR imaging systems for a defense contractor. To his deathbed in 2000, he wouldn't speak of what he did that was classified. His family simply didn't need to know. He would be disgusted.

I would have been in more trouble than I can put into words if I pulled a stunt like that. And I sure as hell would no longer be employed.
