Man, going back to watch those first three Halloweens has been such a treasure trove of context. I already loved the recent trilogy and now I feel like it’s even more well-done than I even realized.

Absolutely works for me in some sort of unhinged super-textured “it’s a vibe” way, like, the movie is riding this perfectly schlocky line and little weird details like that just add to the b-movie pastiche that makes everyone kind of love this movie a little somewhere in their heart
It's definitely a me thing tbf I'm Irish and Samhain is an Irish word so hearing it being pronounced that way gets the hackles up I do love schlocky horror generally
6 is not as bad as I was originally lead to believe, still low on my list. But, I really like 4 & 5, they both nail the feeling of the Halloween/Fall season that I remember from the 90s.
I really don’t think any of them are great movies besides maybe the first one but it’s like it’s own weird world of movies like Bond or Godzilla at this point
I couldn’t agree more. Literally a genius idea??? Not that I’m fully against the Thorn movies and junk, and again, love how much the new ones pull from all of it, but surely he’s dead now, right?
