My book is scared of going out into the world. It thinks everyone is going to find it ridiculous or disgusting. I tried to reassure it by saying no-one is that interested. I feel hollow and distant from myself.

Thanks Julie. I am ok, promise! I just find the persona of a terrible parent quite helpful when it comes to shoving the book from the nest.
The gap between finishing the work and seeing it in print is the worst bit. But mostly because I think I should be touting for readings and I hate asking.
