It seems there was coordination with The White Lotus as Goggins does a crazy full frontal scene moments after the line below. Clearly a brilliant nod to the content from earlier.
It's just the right balance between, "I want to be understanding for my friend" and "For a man my age and upbringing, my reaction is WTF am I hearing?"
The most INSANE monologue EVER heard on Film/TV, written by the BEST writer in show business, MikeWhite &delivered by 1 of the most distinguished GenX actors 2 grace the screen, SamRockwell. Every wannabe actor will be reciting this script. Every acting teacher in town is at Kinkos photo copying it.
I can imagine Goggins at the end of Rockwell's speech, switching into his Baby Billy role with that Southern accent announcing "and now we know how you won that Goddamned Oscar"
I love this guy. He surprises and yet not. That reaction was worth the whole series. I got bored with the youngsters and the Russians and the three women. I missed the point.
I get his reaction. I’ve had people tell me weird stuff before and you just :::listen::: as they ramble on while trying to assess what percentage is real, if any.
They're both top-notch actors...Rick's reaction though was hilarious. Obviously those two were foxhole buddies at another time and Rick does need Frank to do him another favor. Interesting when Frank says to Rick "I owe you one" as if perhaps Rick maybe did something heroic for Frank?
